This is a delicious vegetarian dish, no meat required!
Ingredients
- Oil
- 600-800g mushrooms (button mushrooms and/or other varieties)
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp Paprika powder
- 200ml crème fraîche (tejföl)
- 1 tsp Garlic cream
- Salt
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 tomato
- 1 tbsp flour
Preparation
Clean the mushrooms and slice them or cut them into cubes. Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat oil in a large pan and sauté the onions. After a few minutes, remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the onions with Paprika powder. Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and chop it into pieces. Wash the tomato and dice it.
Add the mushrooms once the onions are golden brown. Add the pepper, tomato, and Garlic cream to the pan, and pour in a splash of water. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer gently on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring regularly.
When the mushrooms are tender, mix the flour with the crème fraîche until smooth. Stir this mixture into the mushrooms stew and let it simmer for a few more minutes to thicken the sauce. Serve the mushrooms stew with galuska(dumplings) or rice.
